A broad art collection at the Crocker Art Museum holds more than 14,000 original pieces of art, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. The museum has particularly strong holdings in the areas of California art, master drawings and Asian works. Beyond its regular displays, the museum shows off varied special exhibitions and has an active schedule of classes, workshops and lectures for art enthusiasts of all ages. Inside Crocker Park, the museum is just south of Old Sacramento, where many history museums, shops and restaurants preserve the Gold Rush-era feel of the city.
