At 32 acres in size, McKinley Park is a large community park, offering ample room for outdoor recreation, family fun and quiet relaxation. The park is best known for its extensive rose garden, which is a highly in-demand spot for wedding ceremonies. Other attractions at the park include a small lake, a swimming pool, the Shepard Garden and Art Center, the Clunie Community Center, playgrounds, sports fields and open green spaces. It is a few miles east of downtown Sacramento, south of the much larger American River Parkway.
